A well‐established software company, Brentmark has been serving the financial planning community with estate and retirement planning tools, offering a suite of software products to professional advisors in both web and desktop formats. As they continue to grow and evolve their offerings, Brentmark needed a modernized website and a robust custom application to manage subscriptions across their expanding product line.
A Custom Application: The Brentmark Client Portal
With a growing suite of financial planning tools, Brentmark required a custom-built portal to automate internal workflows and streamline how users manage product access. The centralized system handles product subscriptions, payments, license management, and updates—all in one place.
- Automation – Purchases and renewals are automated with override capabilities for Brentmark staff. The system also supports proactive communication with users around product updates, while offering custom reporting and views tailored to Brentmark’s operations.
- Product & Subscription Management – Brentmark can manage both desktop and web products through the portal. Clients can subscribe, renew, and access the latest product updates and downloads, while Brentmark staff maintain visibility and control over user access and licensing.
- Client Dashboard – Users log in to a personalized dashboard to manage their products, subscriptions, licenses, and updates. The interface simplifies complex backend functionality into an intuitive user experience.
- Accounting Integration – Brentmark continues to use QuickBooks for accounting workflows. The API has been updated to ensure compatibility with the client portal, allowing for seamless data transfer and efficient financial operations without requiring a new system.
E-Commerce Website
In addition to backend systems, we redesigned Brentmark’s main website and expanded it into a fully functional e-commerce platform. The site now serves as a storefront for purchasing both web-based and desktop software products, making the buyer journey as seamless as the tools themselves.
Technical Integrations and Security
Creative Faze supported Brentmark in implementing SSO integration via a Trusted Identity Provider, enhancing both security and user experience by enabling seamless access across platforms.
We also assisted Brentmark with their SOC 2 audit preparation, addressing requirements flagged during the audit process. Our work included:
- Remediation of gaps related to access controls and logging
- Development of audit-ready documentation and evidence (including annotated screenshots)
- Alignment with auditor test criteria to ensure a smooth, successful review

Most recently, we helped Brentmark elevate their client portal by developing a robust Video Library feature. This new addition enables users to access both free and premium video content, including tutorials on using the Brentmark Portal, finance-related topics, and product-specific walkthroughs for both desktop and web-based applications. Videos can be tagged by product and category, giving Brentmark the flexibility to organize content in a way that’s intuitive for users, making it easier for them to discover relevant content quickly.
Future plans include introducing AI-driven features within the Portal to enhance user insights and workflows, with further expansion of AI capabilities across Brentmark’s core products.
